Jordi Galí Camprubí

 

Since the early Sixties and for over a decade, Jordi Galí receives several recognitions and is able to live professionally from his paintings, combining his work as a painter with his technical architecture studies at the University of Barcelona. During these years, he participates in various exhibitions and is granted several awards including the following:

1963- Founder of the artistic group: MACHINES

1963- Machines collective exhibition at Sala Lleonard (Barcelona)

1964- Solo exhibition at BELARTE art gallery (Barcelona)

1964- Solo Exhibition at RENE METRAS art gallery (Barcelona)

1964- Participation in the Sao Paolo Art Biennial 

1965- Solo exhibition at Armadis Gallery (Madrid)

1965- Collective exhibition at Architects' Professional site (Barcelona)

1965- Exhibition: Artigau, Galí, Porta at René Metras Gallery (Barcelona)

1965- Solo exhibition at Ateneo de Madrid (Madrid)

1965- Collective exhibition at Musée de Ceret (Ceret, France)

1966- Exhibition: Galí, Fried, Porta at René Metras Gallery (Barcelona)

1967- Exhibition Homage to Pablo Picasso at René Metras Gallery (Barcelona)

1967- Solo exhibition at Armadis Gallery (Madrid)

1967- Collective exhibition at René Metras Gallery (Barcelona)

1968- Directs the first video art installation in Spain: Primera Muerte (First Death)

1973- Solo exhibition at Sala Vinçon (Barcelona)

1963- First prize Painting University Award

1964- First prize City of Granollers Award

1965- First prize City of Terrassa Award

 

After an epoch dedicated exclusively to his carreer in Interior Design and architecture; also notable, Jordi Galí returns, at the break of the new Century, to an intense painting  necessity stage, that has not ceased. Among his major accounts during these years are the following: 

 

2009- Collective exhibition: Més enllà de l 'objecte (Beyond the object) at MACBA (Barcelona)

2014-Performance at University Eina (Barcelona)

2019- Solo exhibition at Centre Édtudes Catalanes Sorbonne Université in Paris 

2019- Exhibition at Jacalis art gallery in Girona

2019- Participation in Liberxina exhibition at MNAC Museu Nacional de Catalunya
